On April 19, an individual who served with BTS’s V in the same military unit expressed his gratitude through Instagram, revealing that V had received the Military Police Excellence Award despite sustaining multiple injuries.
The post included group photos with V and praised him, saying, “Even though his shoulder, thighs, and body weren’t in great condition, he still ranked No.1 in shooting with perfect marks, No.1 in winter urban warfare training and shooting, and received the Military Police Excellence Award through pure grit. I was truly inspired.”
The soldier also recalled a memorable moment during their final physical test together, “We ran the 3km side by side, and watching him finish way ahead of the elite standard was incredibly moving.”
In addition to his outstanding physical performance, V reportedly donated workout equipment for fellow soldiers and didn’t hesitate to treat them to quality meals like eel sushi during off-base outings or leave.
The photos posted show V smiling brightly and comfortably mingling with his fellow troops, looking fully adjusted to military life.
V enlisted for active duty in December 2023 and is currently serving in the Special Duty Team (SDT) under the Military Police. He is scheduled to be discharged on June 10, 2025. Earlier, he received top trainee honors alongside RM at the completion ceremony of basic training.
Stories shared by senior soldiers who served with V have praised his warm and considerate personality. In March, V was also selected as a Special Class Warrior. His fellow soldiers described him as a “problem-solver type of hyung,” continuously sharing stories of his kindness and reliability throughout his service.
